 Alain Heureux
President of Interactive Advertising Bureau (Europe)

Alain Heureux has been active in marketing for over 20 years creating several service companies across Europe: the CPM Group specialised in field-marketing, direct marketing and sales promotion; a Webagency called Virtuology active in Brussels, London and Paris, and a full integrated marcom agency named Tagora acting in several European markets. Alain Heureux has always been very active in professional associations creating the field-marketing association in the early nineties called ADMH-IFMA, and for the last six years operating as President for the interactive and digital marketing trade association called the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) in Belgium, but also as of November 2006 as President of IAB Europe covering 23 countries. Alain is trying to create the House of Communication (The Egg) in Brussels together with the entire associative world of the media and marketing communication industry, building a unique location dedicated to Creativity, Innovation and Technologies.

 Anđela Buljan Šiber
Managing Director, DigiPark (Croatia)

Anđela Buljan Šiber is the establisher of digital advertising company within McCann Erickson Group in Croatia. Before she accepted that challenge she was in charge of strategy and business growth in McCann when digital direction was defined. Her orientation to the digital business also correlates with her academic and professional expertise – human behavior in 21st century, directly linked to new technologies.

 Ante Magzan
Executive Director of the Sub-Unit for Corporate Strategy and Business Development, T-HT (Croatia)

Ante Magzan is the Executive Director of the Sub-Unit for Corporate Strategy and Business Development at the Croatian telecom (T-HT). Magzan accepted that position in 2007 after working as the Executive Director of T-Com’s Sub-Unit for Content Management and Development.
Ante Magzan was born in Split in 1973. He graduated from the Savannah College of Art And Design (BFA Computer Art/Multimedia), and continued his education at the London Business School. He has been working in design and participating in various media projects since 1996. His areas of specialization include strategic planning and customer interaction management, as well as development of the new media and information architecture, and content management.
Magzan began his career at the T-HT in January 2003, first as the creative director and content director, and then as the executive director of T-Com’s Sub-Unit for Content Management and Development. He was responsible for the development of web content, mobile and fixed telephony, and development of the IPTV, Croatia’s first interactive digital TV, known today as the highly successful MAXtv. In the period between 2000 and 2003 Magzan was the creative director at Iskon, where he was responsible for the development of the company’s web content, defining of the company’s identity and positioning as the leading independent ISP. Before that, from 1999 to 2002 he worked for Klik Multimedia (1999-2000), which later became Sanoma Magazines, with Magzan as its co-founder and creative director. He was also one of the people who launched one of the most successful web projects in Croatia, web magazine www.klik.hr. In the latter’s case, Magzan was responsible for the project’s overall creative side, including visual identity and creative marketing. Magzan also worked as a designer for the weekly paper Globus (1999) and monthly Playboy (1997-1999). Finally, in the period between 1996 and 2002 Magzan worked for the Studio Buzz, a production company focused on interactive and audio-visual projects and development of corporate identity; he was the founder and creative director of the Studio Buzz.

 Blake Chandlee
Commercial Director, Facebook (Great Britain)

Blake Chandlee is the Commercial Director, UK, at Facebook where he is responsible for the commercial sales and sales support teams designed to expand Facebook’s UK presence and relevance within the overall marketing community. Prior to Facebook, Blake worked at Yahoo! UK Ltd, where he was Commercial Director, UK and played an instrumental role in setting the strategic direction of the organization and managing the various sales teams calling on agencies and clients in the UK marketplace.
Previously, Blake was a founder and senior partner in Kryptonite Ventures, a consulting service focused on NPD and business development. He has also been part of various founding teams resulting in three new companies that focused on the intersection of consumers and media. Blake holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Gettysburg College.

 Darren Chuckry
COO, The Bennett Group/MEN7 (USA)

Darren Chuckry is an entertainment professional with progressive experience in cross-media marketing, production, distribution and business development. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of MEN7, as well as The Bennett Group. MEN7 is a new lifestyle and entertainment network delivering compelling and dynamic HD television programming for aspiring men, and The Bennett Group is a leading fully integrated entertainment studio in Los Angeles. At Bennett, Chuckry oversees the development and production of original content across multiple media channels including television, DVD, live events and digital networks. Major shows and clients include: Rod Stewart, Keith Urban, Hootie & the Blowfish, Taylor Hicks, Ziggy Marley, Dave Matthews, Kanye West, Ludacris, Farm Aid, “Dick Clark’s Rock’n New Years Eve,” “The Biggest Loser” and “Beauty and the Geek.” One-hour network specials include “ABC Ski Tour”, “Red Bull King of the Air,” “Red Bull Rampage,” “Billabong’s J-Bay” and Boost Mobile’s “Pro of Snowboarding.”
Previously, Chuckry served as general manager and executive producer of Pulse Entertainment, which promoted a travel adventure lifestyle across multiple media channels. He segued to Pulse from a post as president/creative director at Dream Theater, an award-winning digital media studio whose clients included Sony Pictures Entertainment, Disney, FX Networks, Paramount Domestic Television, Warner Bros., Sony Digital Entertainment, Columbia Tri-Star Television and Activision. While heading Dream Theater he developed the first automated online mortgage website for DiTech, relaunched the FX Networks website, and in partnership with Intel, launched Jim Henson’s Muppet World, the first website to offer 3D animated shows. He was also responsible for marketing programs for numerous films including Lord of the Rings, Collateral Damage, The Sixth Day, Armageddon and Starship Troopers.
Receiving a B.S. in Business from Arizona State University, Chuckry is a noted convergence media pioneer and frequent speaker at trade events and schools, as well as a regularly quoted reference for Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Advertising Age, Adweek and others. He has been bestowed more than ten premiere creative marketing awards including a Clio, Effie, Promax, Webby and Cindy.

 Ira Kurgan
Chief of Network Business Operations at Fox Broadcasting Co. (USA)

In May of 2008, Ira Kurgan returned to FOX Broadcasting Company as Chief of Network Business Operations. In his new and expanded role, Mr. Kurgan is responsible for all business operations for FOX and on select new media deals. From 2005 to 2008, Ira Kurgan was Chief Business Officer for the Yahoo! Network Division. In this capacity, Kurgan oversaw all content acquisitions within Yahoo!, including business and legal affairs, deal making, partnerships and strategic alliances. Kurgan has over 25 years of business and entertainment experience, including 18 prior years with FOX. He served as an integral member of the FOX leadership team almost from the beginning. His counsel, business acumen, negotiating skills and institutional memory have proven invaluable to every senior executive who has ever worked at the Network. Starting out as Vice President of Business Affairs, Kurgan was promoted to the position of President of Network Business Operations. In this role Kurgan oversaw all business affairs, legal affairs, broadcast standards and practices, theatrical film acquisitions and risk management for reality programming. He also served as a member of the advisory board for Revolution Studios. Having been with the Fox Network since its infancy, Kurgan was closely involved in establishing innovative deal structures and licensing arrangements, as well as creating business policies and practices for an emerging network. Prior to FOX and Yahoo!, Kurgan worked with CBS Broadcasting as Director of Business Affairs, in which he managed negotiation for all matters pertaining to television network development and licensing deals for movies-of-the-week, miniseries, and in-house development and production deals. Kurgan also served as theatrical film and broadcast counsel for CBS, handling all phases of theatrical motion picture development, production and distribution. Kurgan has also held positions with United Artists Pictures, Inc. and with the law firms Rhodes, Barnard, Maloney, Hart & Mullen and Buchalter, Nemer, Fields, Chrystie & Younger. Kurgan holds a bachelors degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. from the UCLA Law School.

 Ivan Stanković
President, Communis (Serbia)

Ivan Stanković has been in the advertising industry for the past thirty years. He is one of the pioneers of modern advertising on the territory of the former Yugoslavia and is best known as one of the founders and owners of the agency Saatchi & Saatchi, which had operated successfully in seven different countries. Six years ago Stanković founded his own, independent agency Communis and after a short while pushed the boundaries of creativity in his country. As part of a communications group Stanković also has the Media S agency, an affiliate of the international media agency chain Starcom MediaVest. Stanković lectures at several colleges and is currently working on his PhD thesis. He is married with four children.

 Joseph Jaffe
Presidnet and Founder of Jaffe LLC, author of the book ‘Life After The 30-Second Spot’ (USA)

One of the most sought-after consultants, speakers and thought leaders on new marketing, Joseph Jaffe is President and Chief Interruptor of Crayon, a conversational marketing company, specializing in community, dialogue and partnership.Crayon’s client engagements include The Coca-Cola Company, Panasonic, American Airlines, Audi, Kraft Foods, Starwood Hotels and ooVoo. Prior to launching Crayon, Joseph ran Jaffe, LLC, where he worked with companies including P&G, The Coca-Cola Company, Dunkin’ Brands, TiVo, Motorola and Fox Interactive Media. Before that, Joseph was Director of Interactive Media at TBWA/Chiat/Day and OMD USA, where he worked on Kmart, ABSOLUT Vodka, Embassy Suites and Samsonite.

His second book titled, “Join the conversation: How to engage marketing-weary consumers with the power of community, dialogue and partnership” was published by Wiley in October 2007. Join the Conversation outlines the birth and rise of “conversational marketing” – a vision of literally what comes next and how marketers can become part of the conversation, instead of constantly disrupting it.
Joseph’s impassioned, straight-shooting and honest perspectives have found their way to every major media outlet, including the likes of CBS Evening News, ABC World News, Bloomberg, NPR, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, Fortune, Newsweek, Business Week, Ad Age, Adweek and the list continues. Joseph is a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Digital Future at the USC Annenberg School, as well as the Society for New Communications Research. He also has lectured at NYU’s Stern School of Business, Cornell’s Johnson School of Business and Syracuse University.

 Dr. Klaus Schweighofer
Member of the Board Styria Medien AG (Austria)

Dr. Klaus Schweighofer was born in 1966 in Graz/Austria. His education includes Master Degree in law from Karl Franzens University in Graz and a PhD in sociology on the topic „Media Law“. Schweighofer worked as a free journalist until 1989 and became editor in chief of the weekly „Der neue Grazer/ der neue Steirer“ in 1991. He was also included in project management of G&S-Zeitungsverlags GmbH in the fields of expansion and radio. In 2002 he moved to M&A Department of Styria Medien AG and shortly after that became Department manager of M&A of Styria Medien AG - responsible for radio/TV, the Slovenian market and for further expansion in Slovenia and Croatia where he was project leader for the new daily 24sata. Schweighofer is also a CEO of Styria International, responsible for all foreign media activities within Styria Medien AG, as well as a member of the Board of Styria Medien AG.

 Linda Jensen
Chief Executive Officer, HBO Central Europe (Hungary)

Linda Jensen was appointed CEO of HBO Central Europe in February 2005, with the headquarters in Budapest, Hungary. In her position, Jensen is responsible for the oversight of all business operations of the HBO channels in the Central European region. HBO CE currently distributes both basic and premium channels and has offices in Hungary, the Czech and Slovak Republics, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, and the Adria region. She reports to the HBO CE Board of Directors, which includes representatives of the partner companies Home Box Office Inc, Walt Disney Television International and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Previously, from 2000 to early 2005, Jensen was the President of MTV Russia, based in Moscow. MTV Russia, the music channel, is a terrestrial network. Jensen played an integral role in increasing the network’s revenue, growing distribution and elevating the channel’s national ratings. Prior to MTV Russia, she gained valuable experience in the Central European region as the Director of Development at Central European Media Enterprises (CME).
Fluent in Russian and familiar with other Slavic languages, Jensen earned her Masters degree in Political Science, specializing in International Politics and Political Economy at Columbia University in 1989. She has also attended finance courses at the London Business School.

 Matthias Grundboeck
Residential Marketing Diretor, VIPnet (Croatia)

Matthias Grundboeck studied Business Adminstration in Innsbruck/AUT and Maastricht/NL. He started his career as a consultant for Plaut Austria. He joined Mobilkom Austria in 2002 where he held several positions in the market sector. Matthias joined VIPnet in 2005 as Head of Market Development, responsible for Strategy, Market and Customer Intelligence. He took over the position of Residential Marketing Director in January 2007.

 Ozana Jurković
Head of Generic Marketing at the international media group Styria International (Croatia)

Ozana Jurković has been cooperating with various foreign and domestic media communication experts and is working on a strategy of developing advertising in the media. She began her career as the Assistant Commercial Director at Heineken. She then went to ACNielsen as the Client Executive and very soon she was leading the business in both Croatia and Slovenia.
She was born in 1971 in Osijek. She graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, and spent an academic year in Cologne, Germany. In 1999 she earned her Postgraduate Diploma in Management. She actively participates in various professional education programs in Croatia and abroad.

 Pavel Mucha
Chief Executive Officer of Centrum Holdings (Czech Republic)

Chief Executive Officer of Centrum Holdings, an online media house operating in the Croatia, Czech, and Slovakia. Prior to his arrival in Feb 2007, he worked as Associate Principal in McKinsey&Company, serving primarily media, technology and telecom clients in the Western and Central Europe, Russia, and United States (West Coast) for 6 years.
Centrum Holdings was acquired by Warburg Pincus in November 2007. Subsequently, Centrum Holdings acquired the online media companies Atlas in Czech and Slovakia as well as Adriatic Media (www.net.hr) in Croatia.
Today Centrum Holdings is actively seeking additional acquisitions in the CEE region. Pavel’s discussion on “Net Media M&A,” will elaborate on his experience as a buyer and seller of media portals as well as Centrum Holdings and Warburg Pincus’s view of the regional market.

 Petar Pavić
Director of Research and Development, Europapress Holding (Croatia)

Petar Pavic worked on various internet and marketing projects for large national clients. After being appointed as a head of R&D in EPH, worked on multichannel projects and products, with a mission to implement new media and new conceptual approach to traditional treatment of business areas of editorial and news segment, marketing, sales etc.
Petar also implemented new business models on the market - he was co-founder of the first local interactive agency; and co-founder of the first regional full service internet advertising network. In the past two years, worked intensely on projects that innovate advertising concepts in perspective to media companies and emerging media (web, mobile).
Petar graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, VA, USA in 1997, major Graphic Design and Visual Communication, specialized in “New Media Design” Domus Academy in Milan, Italy.

 Robert Slavečki
Member of the Management Board of Publishing House VIDI (Croatia)

Co-founder and member of the board at VIDI Publishing - Company he cofounded with Tomislav Kotnik in 1994. Co-founder of Croatian national internet contest and award – ‘Vidi Web Top 100’ and Croatian national award for innovative high-technology ICT projects - ‘Vidi e-novation’. He is long-standing president of evaluation committee for ‘Vidi Web Top 100’. From 1994. to 2000. he was Editor-in-Chief at VIDI magazine.
During his twenty-year-long career as businessman and journalist his articles were published in almost all ICT magazines from the territories of ex-Yugoslavia. He participated either as a journalist, moderator or speaker in hundreds of domestic and international conferences and seminars. Today, he is also a partner at AXIOUS & OBVIUS consulting and publishing company, and specialized VIP tourist agency croatiq.com. He is married and father of three-years-old Filip.

 Tomo Johannes in der Mühlen
President IDM Music (Croatia)

Tomo’s career as an entrepreneur, musician, producer and mathematician naturally lead him to music publishing, where his focus shifted on promoting the rights of the authors in the music industry.
With 15 years of international experience, Tomo has decided to open an office in Croatia, becoming the first music publisher whose focus was entirely on author’s copyrights and the improvement of their condition in a territory dominated by labels.
His contribution to the advancement of music publishing in the region has been both locally and internationally recognized - apart from dealing daily with all the major media companies in the region ( Nova TV, RTL, VIP, T mobile ) and other major industry players, he appeared as the only panelist of a non EU Country at the 21st Century MP conference in Brussels, discussing the adjustment of copyright laws in the digital era.
